1. Limburg is centrally located in Europe
Limburg can easily be reached by airplane and car. The centre (southern Limburg) of this international Belgium-Germany-the Netherlands region is just 1 hour from Düsseldorf and Cologne, 2 hours from Amsterdam and Brussels, and 4 hours from Paris. With more than 10 international airports in and around Limburg and a good infrastructure by car and train Limburg is the place to be.
2. Great funding options
Limburg is the best place to create international co-productions in Europe. Besides our own Limburg Film Fund there are good possibilities to get funding in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg as well. The Limburg Film Fund can be combined with other funding possibilities.
3. Renowned facilities, crew and knowledge
A creative and dynamic European hub with an international infrastructure of the best professionals and production facilities of the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg.
4. Stunning locations
Limburg and its direct surroundings have the most stunning and unique film locations. We are the only province in the Netherlands with hills and mountains, have lots of industrial terrains, historical and contemporary centers, modern- and street-art and the most high tech architecture.
5. International focus
The Netherlands, and especially Limburg, has a natural international scope. Limburg is one of the Netherlands’ 12 provinces. Situated between Belgium and Germany, the region is dominated by borders. Limburg has 351 km of borders with other countries and is connected to the rest of the Netherlands by just 113 km. It’s not surprising that Limburgians have traditionally looked further than her borders and have an open attitude towards international coproduction. Regarding financing Limburg offers you not only the national funding and financing options, but we also have our own Limburg Film Fund. Located in the centre of the crossborder-region (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany) Limburg is also the most natural location to co-produce with production companies from for example Liege, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Luxembourg and Brussels.
