About Limburg Film Office

The Limburg Film Office aims to stimulate the film climate in Limburg and surrounding border regions. This is achieved by utilizing the Limburg Film Fund and Limburg Film Commission in a unique way. On the one hand, this provides a financial incentive for productions and producers who are connected to the region. On the other hand, productions and producers are supported in making productions in Limburg.

Limburg Film Fund

The Limburg Film Fund is the only regional film fund in the Netherlands. Relatively modest resources are used to maximize the impact for the region, both culturally and economically. The Limburg Film Fund wants to provide physical, mental and financial space for experiment and the development of productions and their creators. This central principle has been translated to concrete financing schemes in which there is space for experimentation and innovation, development and realization.

Limburg Film Commission

The Limburg Film Commission forms the official link between the regional creative media industry and national and international production companies. Its mission is to bring national and international audio-visual productions to Limburg by highlighting the favourable conditions for production. In addition, it wants to stimulate its own regional film in every possible way. The Limburg Film Commissioner also functions as promoter of the regional film fund, which it brings to the attention of producers and creators in its own region and beyond. It thus seeks to attract more productions and producers to this region, creates more creative and economic activity and creates cross-pollinations, and the entire region benefits from this.

Regarding financing Limburg offers you not only the national funding and financing options, but we also have our own Limburg Film Fund. Located in the centre of the crossborder-region (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany) Limburg is also the most natural location to co-produce with production companies from for example Liege, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Luxembourg and Brussels.
